PRTC to get cheaper diesel from IOC

Indian Oil Corporation will supply diesel at cheaper rates to Pepsu road transport corporation (PRTC). The IOC has given exemption of 0.25 paisa per litre to PRTC.

Indian Oil Corporation will supply diesel at cheaper rates to Pepsu road transport corporation (PRTC). The IOC has given exemption of 0.25 paisa per litre to PRTC.

A spokesman of the transport department said a memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed in this regard. The spokesman further said that RS Nanda, Prem Kumar, PK Dass and Harvinder Singh Kainth of IOC and PRTC MD Manjit Singh Narang and other officers of the corporation, including RK Behal and Mohan Singh, signed the agreement.

He said an MoU has been signed for three years and PRTC would save `2.10 crore during the next three years. The spokesman said due to signing of this MoU, the PRTC could save `19,000 per day. PRTC buses are covering 2.5 lakh km area with the consumption of 75,000 litre diesel daily.
