Punjab government on Saturday appointed new deputy commissioners in Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar and Faridkot following a major administrative reshuffle involving 11 IAS and 12 PCS officers, which Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal approved with immediate effect.
Punjab government has appointed IAS officer Varun Roojam as deputy commissioner (DC) of Jalandhar; Tanu Kashyap will be DC Hoshiarpur; Anandita Mishra goes to SBS Nagar as the DC and SS Jaggi, who is a Punjab Civil Service officer has been posted as DC Faridkot, according to a state government spokesperson.
The senior IAS officer SS Channy will hold the additional post of principal secretary (transport), apart from principal secretary (tourism, cultural affairs and NRI affairs); while Jagpal Singh Sandhu who was holding the charge of principal secretary (transport) has been given the post of principal secretary (social security, women and child development).
While Roshan Sunkaria will be principal secretary (parliamentary affairs and higher education); Raji P Srivastava, secretary (tourism) and in addition secretary (cultural affairs, archeological and Museum); Prithi Chand will hold the post of director (SCs & BCs welfare) and in addition special secretary (welfare) State Transport Commissioner (STC).
Yet another IAS Ajoy Kumar will hold the post of special principal secretary to chief minister; Supreet Gulati is now additional CA of GLADA; and Varinder Sharma, IAS, has been posted as CA Bathinda Development Authority and Chairman Improvement Trust, Bathinda.
