Punjab govt announces dismissal of absentee medical officer
The Punjab government on Thursday announced the dismissal of medical officer Dr Manpreet Kaur Sandhu under the Punjab Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules on the charge of prolonged absence from work since August 2008 without any intimation.

The Punjab government on Thursday announced the dismissal of medical officer Dr Manpreet Kaur Sandhu under the Punjab Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules on the charge of prolonged absence from work since August 2008 without any intimation.
In the regular inquiry that led to her dismissal, she was also found guilty of not abiding by the service rules, besides exhibiting insolence and disobedience towards the authority, a spokesman said here.
