Punjab, Haryana shiver as minimum temperature dips

Most areas in Punjab and Haryana were reeling under a cold wave with minimum temperatures dipping since Sunday, Met officials said on Monday. Hisar and Narnaul in Haryana recorded a minimum of minus 0.1 degrees celsius and minus 0.5 degrees celsius respectively. Hisar had recorded a low of minus 0.8 degrees on Sunday.

Hisar and Narnaul in Haryana recorded a minimum of minus 0.1 degrees celsius and minus 0.5 degrees celsius respectively. Hisar had recorded a low of minus 0.8 degrees on Sunday.

Chandigarh recorded a low of 3.4 degrees celsius, compared to 4.4 degrees celsius on Sunday morning.

In Punjab, Amritsar was the coldest with a low of 0.8 degrees celsius and a high of 16.8 degrees celsius. The city had recorded a low of 1.6 degrees celsius on Sunday morning.

Industrial hub Ludhiana recorded a low of one degree celsius.

Met officials have predicted rain or thundershowers at some places in Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday.

They said that the cold wave will continue through the New Year's eve.
