Addressing a national meet on aviation in Delhi, Punjab revenue minister Bikram Majithia, on behalf of the Punjab government, said the Raja Sansi airport near Amritsar be made "an international hub with special focus on creating cargo hub as it is the old silk route to explore the middle-east trade potential".

The national conclave was presided over by union civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati to discuss the draft civil aviation policy.

Majithia said the draft policy, if implemented, would be against the interests of people of various regions in the country.
