The decision follows reports of alleged irregularities in the recruitment made recently through the PPSC.

State Chief Secretary S.C. Aggarwal has been asked to conduct the inquiry and submit the report within 30 days, a government spokesman said on Monday.

Chief minister's spokesperson said: "The government took a serious note of allegations of malpractices in recruitment.

"We recruited over 19,000 teachers and there has not been even a single complaint in any of the appointments made. The government has strictly enforced the criterion of merit as the sole yardstick for appointments and other government dealings," he said.

There are allegations that 45 doctors were interviewed by the PPSC within minutes and selected for government jobs.
