Punjab: Rs 52 cr released for aided colleges

The Punjab government on Friday released a grant of Rs 52.09 crore for 110 government-aided private colleges in the state to meet their expenses for the third quarter of the 2013-14 financial year, higher education minister Surjit Singh Rakhra s said here.

The Punjab government on Friday released a grant of Rs 52.09 crore for 110 government-aided private colleges in the state to meet their expenses for the third quarter of the 2013-14 financial year, higher education minister Surjit Singh Rakhra s said here.

In a statement here, Rakhra said apart from focusing on opening new colleges, the emphasis was also being laid on upgrading the existing infrastructure in colleges across the state.
