As we settle down for a tête-à-tête on Sunday at a city hotel, he happens to read our mind and says, “This is my look in YPD 2 (Yamla Pagla Deewana 2).”

Claiming that his much-hyped sequel to Ghayal would take action ‘to a whole new level’, he says, “Ghayal was one film that was appreciated by critics as well as the masses, so I wanted a script that could match up to the first one. We go on the floors in November and the film should be ready for release by next summer.”

Planning to invest in Punjabi cinema? “I have been in talks with director Manmohan Singh, but we still have not found the right script. In fact, I have just finalised a Punjabi project with my father and will announce it in a month’s time.”

And how has he managed to maintain the ‘dolle-sholle’ all these years? “I am into a lot of outdoor activity; play squash and table tennis daily. I don’t drink, smoke or stay up till late night. I would suggest youngsters to not go in for health supplements or diets; give yoga and weight training a try!”

Upcoming projects
I Love New Year: “Coming up in July 2013. I have played the role of a man in his 40s who is not ready to settle down. It’s a romantic comedy.”

Singh Saab The Great: “Directed by Anil Sharma, it comes with a generous dose of action, emotion, comedy and romance.”
