PUNSUP inspector caught taking bribe

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Wednesday nabbed a PUNSUP food inspector red-handed while accepting Rs 15,000 bribe in Gurdaspur. The accused, PUNSUP inspector Dharm Chand, was arrested under Sections 7, 13 (1) and 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Wednesday nabbed a PUNSUP food inspector red-handed while accepting Rs 15,000 bribe in Gurdaspur. The accused, PUNSUP inspector Dharm Chand, was arrested under Sections 7, 13 (1) and 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the case registered at the Amritsar VB police station, VB chief director Suresh Arora here stated.

The complainant, a foodgrain trader in Gurdaspur, had approached the VB after which a trap was laid.
