Panjab University Student Union (PUSU) held a protest outside the vice- chancellor’s office, demanding the guest facility at hostels should be started again.
The PUSU alleged that students face inconvenience due to no facility no facility for guest students at the hostels.

“There is a shortage of hostels in the PU. Students want to avail the guest facility if they would have to pay more for it,”said Satinder Singh, president.
The facility should be restarted in the university till the time new hostels are constructed by the authorities concerned. The student union also demanded proper security arrangements in all hostels.
It may be recalled that the guest facility in the PU hostels was discontinued after complaints from student leaders.
