The Haryana government has granted Rs 100 crore as part of a comprehensive plan to develop Gorakhpur village of Fatehabad district as a 'model village'.
The grant will be spent on implementing various developmental projects in the village where a nuclear plant would be set up.
An official spokesman said on Monday that a 55-bed hospital would be set up in the village at a cost of Rs 35 crore.
He said farmers of Gorakhpur, Kajalhedi and Baropal villages had helped the government in further accelerating the development pace by providing land to set up a nuclear power plant at Gorakhpur.
He said proposals to set up a college and an institute to impart technical education to the children were also under consideration.
"With a view to conserve wildlife, a deer park will also be set up for which land will be provided by the gram panchayat," he said.
He said around Rs 10 crore would be spent on drainage system and constructing pucca roads in the village.
"Around Rs 3 crore will be spent on setting up a modern park and Rs 1 crore will be spent to develop a modern herbal park on 11-acre land in the village," he said, adding that "shiv gaushala" (cow pound) would also be developed into a modern "gaushala".
