The bodies of the other three of the four youths who were drowned in Tikkar Taal in Morni on Sunday evening were recovered on Monday. Villagers pulled out two bodies from the lake in the morning even before a team of professional divers from Kurukshetra reached Morni.
Four divers from Kurukshetra and one from the Panchkula fire brigade continued to search for the fourth body for about five hours till they finally recovered it late in the evening. While the body of Jatin (21) had been recovered on Sunday itself, the youths whose bodies were recovered on Monday have been identified as Jaswinder alias Happy (22), Sandeep (22) and Anup (19).
Jatin's feet had got entangled in a swampy portion of the lake and only his head was visible on the surface. His body was the first one to be recovered. The vests of Jaswinder and Sandeep were torn, indicating that they had either struggled to come out or tried to save each other.
Labourers working at a nearby site said the boys were drunk. They said they had an argument with one of them. Tourism department officials had warned the youths against bathing in the lake, but they paid no heed. Jatin, a resident of Zirakpur, was son of Babu Lal, a clerk with the Haryana government. He was pursuing BA through correspondence.

His father Vijay Singh works as a driver with the department of supplies and disposal of the Haryana government.

Jaswinder, Anup and Jatin were old friends. "They were neighbours in Housing Board Colony, Sector 26. Later, Jaswinder's family shifted to the Police Lines in Moginand and Jatin's family to Zirakpur. "We did not know when they went to Tikkar Taal. Anup's father Vijay was playing cards with me since 11.30 am. In fact, Anup had called up his family at 2.30 pm to convey that he was around," said Jaswinder's uncle Ashok Kumar. None of the three boys told their families that they were going to Tikkar Taal.
