He said during the interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that Punjab Armed Police (PAP) constable Harinder Singh of Bara village was also involved in preparing obscene posters relating to a woman.

It may be mentioned that Daljit Kaur of Salahpur village had got a case registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and IT Act at the Chamkaur Sahib police station on May 25, 2014, alleging that some unidentified persons had written obscene things about the woman, her children and other prominent persons of the village and circulated the same in the village and also threatened her on phone of dire consequences.

The SSP said during the interrogation, it was revealed that Harinder wanted to force the woman to enter into illicit relationship with him. As such he along with Jaspreet alias Dimple of Dhanauri village and Rajesh Kumar alias Chabba of Morinda prepared posters with obscene writings against the woman, her children and others and circulated them in the village.

He said the police had also recovered a Verna, Swift, Etios Liva and one tractor from their possession.

Meanwhile, Kompal Dhanjal, judicial magistrate first class, Rupnagar, had extended the police remand of the gang members for two more days.
