A robbers’ gang struck at Rangilpur village and raped two girls, including a minor, of a migrant family from Bihar on Monday night. The gang also looted Rs 19,000 cash from the family.

According to victim girls’ mother, she, along with her family, was staying at the village dharmshala. On Monday night, she and her 12-year-old and 22-year-old daughters were sleeping inside the dharamshala, while her husband and sons were sleeping outside.
She said about seven persons entered the room and took away Rs 19,000 from them and gangraped their daughters.

She alleged that all of them were beaten up - after their hands, feet and mouth were tied - with sticks by the accused. “They threatened us to come outside of the room after half-an-hour or we would be eliminated,”alleged the woman.

On getting the information, senior superintendent of police Varinder Paul Singh, superintendent of police (investigation) Harmeet Singh Hundal, deputy superintendent of police Harbir Singh Atwal and assistant superintendent of police Sandeep Garg reached the spot and started investigations.
