In the context of the Shruti abduction case, Amarinder had told Saini to stop behaving like an Akali politician.

Talking to mediapersons here, SAD spokesman and Rupnagar MLA Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said it had become a habit for Amarinder to politicise every issue. Cheema stated that instead of levelling allegations and threatening police officers, Amarinder should praise the police for arresting the accused involved in the Shruti abduction case.

"It does not behove a responsible leader of the opposition party to level charges against police officers in a democracy. If he wants to make his point, he should do it before the government, which is in a position to reply," Cheema said.

Earlier, addressing a function after inaugurating the office of Parvasi Bhalai Sangathan, Punjab, here, Cheema said the Punjab government was committed to the redressal of problems being faced by migrants from other states in Punjab.
