Taking up his petition, the bench headed by justice Naresh Kumar Sanghi issued a notice of motion to the Punjab government to file its reply before November 20.

The Amritsar district court has already dismissed Sarbhdyal's anticipatory bail plea earlier, after which he chose to approach the high court.

In his petition, Sarbhdyal submitted that he had no role to play in encashing 12 cheques through dummy bank accounts which were meant for development works in the Attari assembly constituency, as alleged.
