General Officer Commanding of Srinagar-based Chinar Corps Lt General SA Hasnain co-chaired the core group meeting with Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda at Badami Bagh cantonment here, a defence spokesman said.

Senior officers of army, police, CRPF, BSF, intelligence agencies and civil administration attended the meeting, he said.

Lt Gen Hasnain, who is also the security advisor to the state government, complimented the officers from various agencies on the high level of synergy that exists between all stake-holders in addressing the security concerns of the Valley.

Khoda echoed similar sentiments, the spokesman said.

The meeting deliberated on numerous security issues and took an overall view of the prevailing external and internal environment, the spokesman said.
The core group meeting also assumes significance in view of the scheduled shifting of state government capital from Jammu to Srinagar next month.
