Seven theft cases were reported from various parts of the district late on Thursday night.

Seven theft cases were reported from various parts of the district late on Thursday night.

In the first incident, thieves struck at a jewellery showroom in Sector 70 from where they took away 10 kg silver and gold. Rajbir Singh, the watchman who was injured after the thieves hit him, said they saw a white Zen without any registration number and tried to stop it but the thieves who were wearing monkey caps hit him.

The second theft was reported from a multi-brand shop in Phase 3B2, from where the thieves made away with branded clothes worth lakhs. Harmanpreet Singh, the owner of the shop, said when they reached the shop on Friday morning he was shocked to find the locks broken.

According to information, the third incident took place at Mataur village where the thieves struck at a dairy and took away `1500 and a mobile phone.

The fourth theft was also reported from Mataur village. According to Rajan Narang, owner of the garments shop where the theft took place, when he came to his shop on Friday many branded jackets and other material were missing from the shop and the locks were also broken.

SP (City-1) Ashish Kapoor said they were investigating the matter and would arrest the gang involved in the theft soon.
