Shinde assures J&K all help from Centre

The union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde assured the J&K government of all help by the Centre to restore permanent peace in the state, which has witnessed violence during the past more than two decades.

The Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde Shinde assured the J&K government of all help by the Centre to restore permanent peace in the state, which has witnessed violence during the past more than two decades.

This assurance was given by Union minister during a one-on-one meeting with chief minister Omar Abdullah here last evening.

He said during the meeting, various issues relating to law and order and prevailing security situation were discussed.

They also discussed matters relating to the developmental schemes under implementation in the state under Prime Minister Reconstruction Programme (PMRP) and other programmes.

The CM apprised Shinde of the path-breaking initiatives taken by the state government for empowerment of the people, bringing transparency in the functioning of administration, time bound public service delivery and good governance.

However, Abdullah emphasised the need for special Central assistance to the state government for providing subsidised additional LPG cylinders to the consumers in the state.

He also discussed issues relating to funding of Baghlihar phase II and transmission and distribution projects under PMRP.
