Speeding bus crushes 2 teens to death

A speeding Haryana Roadways bus crushed two 19-year-old youths to death near Sector 47/48 light point around 12.30am on Friday. The victims have been identified as Abhishek Malik, a resident of Hisar, and Ilin Sason of Shimla.

The victims have been identified as Abhishek Malik, a resident of Hisar, and Ilin Sason of Shimla.

The incident took place when both the victims, who were riding a motorcycle bearing registration number UK-04K-2220, were on the way back to their paying guest (PG) accommodation in Sector 20 from SAS Nagar.

They were reportedly hit by a rashly driven bus bearing registration number HR-55N-4645, which was coming from Delhi and was heading towards the Sector-43 bus stand.

The bus dragged the victims, who came under the front wheel of the bus, to over 100 m before coming to a halt.

The police was informed and the victims were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32. They were declared brought dead by a team of doctors.

The driver of the bus, Parveen Kumar, a resident of Rohtak, fled the spot, leaving the vehicle behind. Passengers were sitting in the bus at the time of incident.

Both the victims were studying in PIE institute in Sector 21. Malik is survived by parents and a younger sister. His father, Rajpal, is sub-inspector with the Haryana police.

Ilin Sason was the only child of his parents. His father, Gurjinder Singh, is working with a Shimla-based bank.

In another incident, a 31-year-old resident of SAS Nagar sustained serious injuries after the motorcycle he was travelling on was knocked down by a truck near Sector 34/35 roundabout. The victim has been identified as Talvinder Singh. He was rushed to a hospital, where he is currently under treatment.
