Despite light showers in parts of Chandigarh today, the maximum here settled at 35.5 deg C, two notches above the normal, a MeT report said.
Hisar in Haryana was the hottest place at 38 deg C, up two notches. Bhiwani too had a hot day at 37 deg C, also two degress above the normal.
Ambala registered a high of 34.6 deg C, two degrees above the normal level, the report said.
In Punjab, Amritsar's maximum settled at 36.8 deg C, three notches above the normal.
Ludhiana recorded a high of 35.5 deg C, three notches above the normal, while Patiala's maximum settled at 36 deg C, four degrees above the normal level, according to the report.
