Anjali Jasrai says she was always sure of wanting to do something different in life. “I was also aware that there is a dearth of girl speakers and corporate trainers,” adds the 19-year-old BSc (non-medical) student at Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh.
And so, in 2011, after Anjali met Sahil Sahore, a Delhi-based motivational speaker, at a training programme at an LIC office (Life Insurance Corporation of India), she went on to attend a six-month workshop mentored by him. A few more sessions later, Sahil had noticed that Anjali had a spark, and decided to hone her talent as a public speaker.
As Sahil now gets ready to ‘launch’ Anjali as a motivational speaker for Dream Wingz Training and Development Pvt Ltd, his Delhi-based company where he works as a principle trainer, he says his dream of doing his bit for the nation by producing well-groomed and thoughtful speakers is close to being realised.
As Anjali starts delivering lectures under her newly acquired name, ‘Anjali the Angel’, she is also being constantly trained by Sahil and his team, called Parth. Sahil explains that Parth is a common platform which encourages informal discussions amongst people of all ages, and was started by him to bride the gap of communication between the young and the elderly.
So, as this bunch meets every Saturday at Café Coffee Day in SAS Nagar, they discuss ideas and issues that the country faces. Further, Sahil adds that he is determined to ultimately create five ‘quality’ individuals each in the categories of IPS (Indian Police Service), IAS (Indian Administrative Service), entrepreneurs, speakers and politicians.
Anjali, on her part, is happy to announce that she would officially be the ‘youngest speaker in India’ after she is registered at the Indian Society for Training and Development, New Delhi. Quoting APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India, who said he foresaw India as a super power in 2020, Anjali says she believes in playing an active role by helping others build their dreams, channelise their energies and aiding them achieve their goals.
