The three-day car rally that commenced on Saturday will cover 600 kilometres, passing through the Mughal Road and will explore the picturesque locales of the Himalayas, before concluding at Bafliaz Point.

The rally has attracted 67 participants this year.

A participant, Gaurav Gill, described journey as adventurous and challenging.

"Sixty seven cars of different types are participating in the rally. We are driving Mahindra SUV but there are Maruti, Tata and many more cars participating in the rally," Gill said.

Shamshir Hussain, senior superintendent of police (SSP) said such motor sports promote adventure tourism in the border districts, which are yet to be explored.

"This car rally along the Mughal Road will boost the tourism and benefit locals," Hussain said.
