Three flights cancelled over 'bad weather', fog to follow

Six out of total nine scheduled flights operated while three were cancelled due to 'bad weather' on Sunday. No flights of Jet Airways operated on Sunday as the airline, anticipating foggy weather and poor visibility, on Saturday, had announced to cancel their flights on Sunday.

Six out of total nine scheduled flights operated while three were cancelled due to 'bad weather' on Sunday.


No flights of Jet Airways operated on Sunday as the airline, anticipating foggy weather and poor visibility, on Saturday, had announced to cancel their flights on Sunday.

Jet Airways' two Chandigarh-Delhi flights that departs at 11.25am and 12.30pm and Chandigarh-Mumbai flight that departs at 12.25pm were cancelled.

Airport director HS Toor said, "We haven't given any schedule to the airlines. It is up to them to decide to operate or cancel the flights."

Meanwhile, the flights which operated from the city included Go Air's Chandigarh-Mumbai flight that departs at 11.15am, Air India flight to Delhi departed at 11.48am instead of 11.25am.

SpiceJet's two flights to Delhi at 12pm and to Mumbai at 12.40pm and an Indigo flight to Mumbai departed as per schedule.

Being the third Sunday the flight operations at city airport were carried out only till 1pm as on every first and third Sundays, the airport is shared with the defence for civil traffic.

Weather to remain sunny till Tuesday: Met

The maximum temperature, on Sunday, increased by over six notches to almost 20 degree which was close to normal temperature. On Saturday, the maximum temperature was 14.0.

Met department officials informed that city residents will be able to enjoy the sun till Tuesday. "The temperature will not fall much, however, it will be cloudy,"said the met department director Surinder Paul.
