Three LeT militants killed in Kashmir encounter

Three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were killed in separate encounters in the frontier district of Kupwara today morning.

A defence ministry spokesman Lt Colonel JS Brar said that based on specific information about the presence of militants at Laribal village and nearby forest at Handwara, troops launched an operation.

He said that the encounter was still on when the reports last came in.

Lt Col Brar said that initial reports said there were three militants at Laribal and two in the nearby forest. He said details were awaited.

However, official sources said that three militants were killed and operation was still on when the reports last came in.
