The film, which also stars accomplished actors Yuvraj Hans, Binnu Dhillon, Swati Kapoor, Shruti Sodhi and comedian Jaswinder Bhalla, strives to strike the right balance between comedy and drama, shared the team. Talking about what prompted him to make the film, director Kshitij Chaudhary says, "It had been my dream to make something on the lines of Raj Kapoor's Shri 420 ever since I saw the film as a youngster."

Chaudhary, a chemical engineering graduate from Panjab University, has many films to his credit. He had earlier teamed up with batch mate Smeep Kangand to make video films such as Meri Vahuti Da Viyah and Chak De Phattey before co-directing the film Jag Jeondeyan De Mele. He took to full-fledged direction with the film Heer Ranjha and followed it up with Yaara Dildara and Jatts in Golmaal.
