The death of a 13-year-old girl near Gill village in Moga district after she was allegedly thrown off a moving bus by some refreshed the horrific memories of December 16 ‘Nirbhaya’ gang rape case in Delhi.

The incident has once again raised the issue of women safety and society’s indifferent attitude towards such cases.

The social media was all buzz about the incident throughout the day.

Tweeting on the incident, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi wrote that four things needed to be done at the earliest. “4 things be done ASAP*Cameras in buses as promised*License of d bus b cancelled*bring good Samaritan Law*Do decoy excercises,” she tweeted.

Punjab AAP convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur asked for the resignation of the Badals who are the owner of the bus service.
