The Haryana government has opened two control rooms each at Dehradun and Rishikesh in Uttarakhand for providing help to people stranded in flood-ravaged state.

On the basis of calls received from relatives of stranded people, a list of has been prepared that has the names, addresses and the place in Uttarakhand from where stranded people have made telephone calls, besides their origin and the destination of the journey, Krishna Mohan, additional chief secretary, revenue.

The list would be given to the Uttarakhand government and then forward it to control room in Rishikesh that been set up at Jai Ram Ashram. The control room is led by deputy superintendent of police Jairam Gehlawat, who can be contacted at 83980-00608.

The centre is coordinating with the Uttarakhand administration in rescue operation and providing help to the stranded people from Haryana, Mohan said. "The affected people who come for help at the Rishikesh centre would be provided with assistance, even monetary, to enable them to reach their destinations."

He said another team led by principal secretary, animal husbandry, PK Das (98142-13797) and police officials are stationed at the Dehradun centre. An amount of Rs 10 lakh has been sent for medical treatment of affected people at the Dehradun centre.
