Two cops were sent to police lines for not performing their duty efficiently. Sub-inspectors Baljinder and Hans Raj of Sector 26 police station were sent to police lines on Sunday morning following their failure to close down discotheques in time.

The Chandigarh Police have issued instructions to discotheques to close down at 2 am on Saturdays. The cops have also been instructed to get the discotheques closed at the stipulated time.
Sources said on Saturday night PCR staff inspector Ranjit Dhillon and Satpal informed Sector 26 police staff that the discotheques were open beyond the stipulated time and they should go and get them closed immediately.
At least three discotheques did not close till 3 am following repeated instructions. Teams of Chandigarh police have been constituted to check that discotheques close down within the time given to them.
