Two held for robbery, 3 cases of motor theft registered

Two people were arrested for theft, while three motor vehicle theft cases were registered from across the tricity on Saturday.

Two people were arrested for theft, while three motor vehicle theft cases were registered from across the tricity on Saturday.

Janardhan Shah, a resident of Phase 2, Ramdarbar, alleged that Avadhoo Yadav of Uttar Pradesh was caught from Phase 1 of the Industrial Area, for stealing two rolls of copper wire on Friday.

In another incident Sandeep Chanana, a resident of Sector 8, Panchkula, alleged that Raju of UP was caught red-handed stealing brass from Phase 1 of the Industrial Area on Friday. The accused was arrested on Saturday.

Meanwhile, three motor vehicle theft cases were reported from across the city. Deepak, a resident of Sector 11, Panchkula, reported that someone has stolen his Activa scooter bearing registration number HR-59B-2013 from parking of Sector 22B.

Nandani Sharma, a resident of Pushpak Society, Sector 49, said her Honda Activa scooter (CH-04-6123) was stolen from the parking near a showroom in Madhya Marg, Sector 26. In the third case, a resident of Sector16, Panchkula, Vivek Sharma complained that his motorcycle bearing registration number HR-03H-4343 was robbed from Elante Mall, Phase 1 of the Industrial Area.

The police have registered separate cases of theft under sections 379 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in all the incidents.
