Two persons died after a train ran over them near Jagatpura colony in SAS Nagar on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Arvind (35), a resident of Chandumajra village in SAS Nagar, and Shamsher Singh (45), a native of Kambali village in SAS Nagar.
As per police reports, the train driver informed the Kharar station master, who in turn informed the railway police about the incident around 4pm.
Police said during the search, a photocopy of Arvind’s Aadhar Card was found, along with some tablets.
The railway police said after informing family members of the deceased, the bodies were shifted to the civil hospital mortuary in Phase 6, SAS Nagar.
Police added that they were trying to get in touch with the train driver to gather more details about the incident.
