UILS students win moot court competition

University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, bagged the running trophy by winning the national moot court competition held at Rayat College of Law, Railmajra, near Rupnagar on Sunday.

University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, bagged the running trophy by winning the national moot court competition held at Rayat College of Law, Railmajra, near Rupnagar on Sunday.

In a stiff competition among 16 teams participating from various law schools from Punjab, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Rajasthan, UILS team won the final rounds by defeating their opponents Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishav Vidalya (BTS) University, Sonepat.

Aditya Dassaur from UILS, PU, was adjudged the best mooter for his argumentative and oratory skills. The host team from Rayat College of Law (RCL) won the award for the best memorial.

Chief guest justice Hemant Gupta of Punjab and Haryana high court inaugurated the competition. In his inaugural address, he stressed on vital role of lawyers towards bringing social change in society.
Gurvinder Singh Bahra, chairman, Rayat-Bahra Group of Institutes, lauded the role of the college in organising this national level event.
