"We have seen four wars, which is enough to teach us that there is no military solution to the problem. Increased people-to-people contact is what would end the hostility," said Lt Gen Bangash, who was here to attend a seminar on 'Healthcare: A Bridge to Peace' held at Fortis Hospital.

He said, "Pakistan's stand on Kashmir remains unchanged but differences do not mean we have to kill one another. The wealth both countries are generating should not be used to kill people; a strong political will is needed to put an end to the hostility."

He said, "Political decisions are not always welcome, but we should not be afraid of factions when you know you have to take a decision in the interest of the nation. We are not keen on using arms but have to extend our arms for a negotiation."
