The body of a youth was found under mysterious circumstances outside Colony Number 4, Industrial Area, on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Kumar, 18, a resident of Colony Number 4.

Police said the body was found under a tree and it appeared that decease was drunk as a result of which he might have fallen on road, leading to his death.

His father Ram Dhan told police he was a habitual drinker. Meanwhile, the body has been admitted to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, for the post-mortem examination.

Police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPc at Industrial Area police station. Meanwhile, relatives of the victim claimed that injury marks on his body indicated he was murdered.
