Under the scheme, women will be benefitted by economic and social welfare schemes, which will be given to them through direct cash transfers. Bank accounts for 1.5 crore women in the state will be opened and `2000 will be deposited by the state government in the accounts. The state government has set aside `600 crore for the scheme.

Raje distributed Bhamashah card to the beneficiary women and the first card was handed over to Shanta Bai, a resident of Udaipur. Raje also inaugurated the first Bhamashah Enrolment Camp organised in Kota through video conferencing.

Addressing a gathering at the launch of the scheme, Raje said, “The scheme is being launched from Mewar because this is the land of brave women like Pannadhai, Hadi Rani and Rani Padmini.”

She said, “Our country is following the patriarchal system from decades and launching of this scheme will bring landmark revolution in the state and Rajasthan will now move forward using women power.”

Enrolment camps under the scheme will be organised at gram panchayats and ward level from August 16. A centralized helpline with toll free number (1800-180-6127) has also been set up.
