NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday described the ‘molestation’ complaint against its three legislators a ‘conspiracy’ by the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Central government, which has been ‘misusing’ its agencies to ‘harass’ the ruling party in Delhi.

The party fielded its women legislators on Thursday, who termed the allegations baseless and claimed that, in fact, it was they who made sure the complainant made a safe exit from the premises despite the woman having made an unauthorised entry into the assembly and creating a ruckus near the House.

Addressing reporters at the party office, AAP legislator Bhawan Gaur said the complainant has a history of filing such complaints and her presence at the Assembly was part of a planned conspiracy as she managed to enter the Assembly on recommendation from the office of the leader of opposition.

“She is the same woman who attacked senior leader Sanjay Singh and filed a molestation complaint against people who had intervened. In 2016, she had filed a molestation case against her landlord. In 2013, a man who had lent money to her filed a complaint against the women alleging that she was blackmailing her with a threat to file a molestation complaint,” Gaur said, who was flanked by two other AAP legislators Alka Lamba and Promila Tokas.

“Laws have been made for safety of women, but it is unfortunate that it is being misused as part of a political conspiracy. The truth remains that on humanitarian grounds, five women AAP legislators and three women constables ensured her security and safe exit from the assembly,” Lamba said.
