1 held for woman’s murder in Rohtak

The Rohtak police claimed to have solved the murder case of a woman in Sampla village and arrested a man from the same village on murder charges.

The deceased has been identified as Shakuntala, 40, a resident of Sampla village in Rohtak. While the accused has been identified as Kapil Kumar, resident of the same village. The police said that based on the disclosure of the accused the body has been recovered from bushes near 334-B area.

Investigation officer Mahender Singh said that the family members of the deceased had filed a complaint of her being missing on July 8. During the investigation police suspected that Kapil was in touch with the deceased and he allegedly had an affair with her. During interrogation, Kapil allegedly confessed to murdering her with a knife.

officials said a thorough investigation is being conducted and further action will be taken based on evidence.
