The police launched an immediate probe after being alerted to graffiti containing provocative slogans. The incident gained further traction after foreign-based fugitive Gurpatwant Singh Pannun released a video on social media referencing the writings on the wall.

The arrested accused, Mangal Singh, 26, an auto driver residing outside Khazana Gate, and Arshdeep Singh, 23, a labourer from Chabal Road, are from Wariyam Singh Colony in Amritsar.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Arshdeep Singh was in direct contact with a foreign-based handler identified as Gora.

Police have registered FIR 142 at Division A Police Station under Sections 196(1), 197(2), and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Senior officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace the complete chain of events.

Reiterating their zero-tolerance policy against attempts to disrupt communal harmony, the Amritsar Police warned that any miscreants trying to disturb public order or spread provocative material will face strict action under the law.
