60-year-old man shoots self in Haryana’s Rohtak

Police officials said that the deceased was sitting outside his shop around 4 pm and suddenly he took out his pistol and shot himself in the head.

A 60-year-old man, father of a senior police officer allegedly committed suicide with a licensed pistol outside his shop in Rohtak grain market on Friday evening, police said.

Police officials said that the deceased was sitting outside his shop around 4 pm and suddenly he took out his pistol and shot himself in the head.

“He was rushed by other arhitiyas to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) here, where doctors declared him dead. We recovered a suicide note from the spot and authenticity of the note is yet to be done,” he added.

Police said that the victim’s post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow and reasons behind the extreme step are yet to be ascertained.
