The deceased has been identified as Ram Singh, a resident of Kartarpur Garibdas. Police said the victim was returning home on his bicycle when the accident occurred. His son, Kuldeep Singh, who drives an auto, was standing on the opposite side of the road when he saw the tragic incident unfold.

According to the complaint filed by Kuldeep Singh, his father was crossing the road when a motorcycle, bearing registration number PB-27E-8492, driven by a man identified as Banti, came at high speed and hit him. The impact threw Ram Singh onto the road, leaving him severely injured.

He was first taken to a nearby hospital and later referred to Civil Hospital, Phase 6, Mohali, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
