Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia on Friday said that the AAP government in Punjab can register 100 cases against him but would not be able to silence his voice or stop him from taking a stand against “injustice”.

Majithia, who was granted anticipatory bail by a court in Amritsar on Monday, alleged that every effort is being made to muzzle him.

The Akali leader was booked under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for allegedly storming Majitha police station on May 31, two days after civic body polls results, to secure the release of a detainee.

Majithia claimed he had gone to the police station only to ascertain the whereabouts of party supporter Jobanpreet Singh, who he alleged was picked up by police in a false case.

“The case against me is also false. My only intention of going to the police station was to protect the rights of the Akali worker,” Majithia said, adding that the Punjab and Haryana high court had ruled Jobanpreet’s arrest illegal.
