The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Ambala district information technology (IT) cell in-charge, Vikramjeet Singh Nagi, was found dead at his house on Cross Road 1 in Ambala cantonment on Sunday evening, police said on Monday.

Nagi’s family had gone to Amritsar in Punjab and he was alone when the matter was reported to the police by a neighbour.
Family sources said that Nagi had spoken to his wife on Sunday morning, but when he did not respond to calls in the evening, a neighbour was sent to check on him.
The neighbour did not get any response and broke open the door only to find Nagi dead on his bed.
The police were called and party leaders, including Haryana home minister Anil Vij, reached the house, which is near the Sadar Municipal Council office.
Inspector Naresh Kumar, station in-charge, Cantt police station, said though the autopsy would reveal the cause of death, police teams were at the site to probe mysterious death.
