Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Thursday announced support to Sonia Chaudhary—an independent candidate for the post of mayor for Ambala municipal corporation elections.

During the inauguration of her campaign office located on Hisar Road, INLD leader Karan Chautala formally announced the party’s support for Chaudhary. He affirmed that the party organisation would stand by her with its full strength.
Taking aim at both Congress and BJP, Karan Chautala stated that neither party has lived up to the public’s expectations; instead, they remain entangled in internal squabbles.
Meanwhile, Chaudhary said that her foremost priority is to eradicate corruption and the practice of ‘brokerage’ (middleman culture) within the municipal corporation.
She noted that common citizens are currently forced to pay ‘facilitation fees’—essentially bribes—even for minor administrative tasks, a practice she vowed to eliminate entirely.
