After the UT drug controller suspended drugs licence of 15 pharmacies for three days, three of them, including the two Amrit pharmacies at PGIMER, have appealed to the UT health secretary for a waiver.

The three chemist shops include the Amrit pharmacies at Advance Cardiac Centre and Advanced Paediatric Centre, PGIMER, and Garg Pharmacy at Shop Number 7, GMSH, Sector 16.
Consequently, the five-day suspension period for the two Amrit pharmacies has been reduced from five days to one day, May 12 and May 19, respectively.
On the other hand, Garg Pharmacy’s request was denied by the health secretary, saying that after going through facts of the case, there seemed to be no need to interfere with the orders issued by the principal medical officer-cum-drugs controller-cum-licensing authority, Chandigarh.
