The army on Tuesday foiled an infiltration bid and gunned down a terrorist along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati saector of Poonch district, said officials.
Nagrota based White Knight Corps relayed the information via X. “Acting on persistent surveillance, suspicious movement was detected approximately 300 metres inside own territory in the general area of #KrishnaGhati Sector, #Poonch, along the #LoC at around 4 PM today,” it stated.
Troops swiftly responded and foiled the infiltration bid, ensuring no breach of the LoC, the army said, adding that one intruder has been neutralised.
The army stated that its troops continued to dominate the area and maintain a high state of operational readiness across the sector.
On Monday, the GOC of the White Knight Corps, Lt Gen PK Mishra had visited operational areas in general area Surankote in the Poonch sector to review the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
He was briefed on the counter-terrorism grid, intelligence framework and seamless inter-agency synergy ensuring effective domination in the hinterland.
Interacting with troops, the Lt Gen Mishra commended their high morale, combat readiness and unwavering commitment towards maintaining peace and stability.
