District census officer-cum-additional deputy commissioner Poonam Singh said the citizen-friendly digital initiative enables residents to complete census formalities from their homes using only a mobile number and one-time password (OTP).

To participate, residents need to visit the portal, register or log in with their mobile number, verify it through OTP and fill in household and family details. Users can also mark the location of their house on the map, wherever required, and submit the form. After submission, a self enumeration (SE) ID will be generated for future reference.

In a press release, the district administration assured that all information shared during the Census process would remain strictly confidential and protected by law. “The data collected will be used solely for planning, policy-making and developmental purposes,” it said.

Officials said households that do not complete self-enumeration online will be covered later during the field enumeration phase by designated enumerators.
