Jalandhar: The additional and district sessions court in Kapurthala on Wednesday adjourned the bail plea of NRI kabaddi player Ranjit Singh and ASI Munish Kumar in a drugs case till March 11.
The duo along with former deputy superintendent of police Vimal Kant was arrested by Punjab police’s special task force (STF) on February 10 for allegedly running an international drug racket.
Earlier this month, STF had given a clean chit to Kant in the case.
According to STF, key accused Singh, alias Jeeta Maur, was allegedly running the drug racket in connivance with police officials and politicians and was parking the drug money in the real estate business.
A total of 12 people were booked in the case under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs Act at the STF police station in Mohali.
As per the FIR, the complaint was filed by one Vasu Pathak, a resident of Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala, alleging that Singh was running an international drug racket.
