Haryana speaker advocates for timely administration of HPV vaccine

The speaker, who was the chief guest, during a walkathon organised in Karnal said that along with strengthening development and systems in society, public awareness is essential

Haryana assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan on Sunday said that the recently launched HPV vaccine will help protect women from cervical cancer and advocated for its on time administration.

Kalyan was speaking during a walkathon organised by the Karnal unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA). The walkathon, organised from Karnal Club to the Civil Hospital was held to spread awareness about cervical cancer.

The speaker, who was the chief guest, said that such programmes yield positive outcomes and play an important role in sensitising society.

At this occasion, mayor Renu Bala Gupta, chief medical officer Dr Poonam Chaudhary, IMA president Dr Salil Gupta and other members along with representatives of various social organisations participated in the event.

Emphasising the need for awareness, he said that along with strengthening development and systems in society, public awareness is essential.
