Police on Thursday attached property of notorious drug peddler worth ₹45 lakh in Budgam.

Police said that in a decisive action against the drug menace attached immovable property worth approximately ₹45 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Beerwah. “The attached property, a single-storey residential house at Sadipora Beerwah belongs to Tanveer Ahmad Ganie son of Mohd Yousuf Ganie, who is involved in FIR under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act, registered at police station Beerwah,” the police spokesman, adding that investigation revealed that the accused had acquired the said property through proceeds of illegal narcotics trafficking.
“Following due legal process and based on concrete evidence, the property has been formally seized and attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act. This action reflects J&K Police’s sustained efforts and zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking. The general public is urged to share any information regarding drug peddling and support efforts to build a drug-free society,” the spokesperson added.
