An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police in Punjab’s Amritsar was allegedly caught on camera taking off his pant on duty while drunk, following which he was suspended on Saturday. ASI Surinder Singh allegedly took off his clothes under the influence of the alcohol and flashed himself outside the Deputy Commissioner complex in Amritsar, news agency ANI reported.

A video of the alleged incident is also being widely circulated on social media. In the over-a-minute-long video, the official, in an apparently inebriated state, is seen flashing himself even as people around him try to stop him from doing so.

The video later shows another person taking the official inside the complex. Other officials are seen confronting the ASI as they asked him to follow them, likely to initiate an inquiry into the matter.

"ASI Surinder Singh was on duty outside the DC Complex. A video made by a journalist went viral showing that he was doing duty while drunk. We have sent the report for his suspension and also set up the inquiry against him," Auakh was quoted as saying by ANI.
